Just finished Kingsolver’s The Lacunae (2009) and Deborah Blum‘s The Poisoner’s Handbook (2010)

Finished Heilemann and Halperin’s Game Change (2010).

Finished Story and Discourse: Narrative Structure in Fiction and Film (1978) by Seymour Chatman.

Finishing up Heller’s Ayn Rand and the World She Made (2009).

Between You and Me (2005) by Mike Wallace.

A few recent readings include Indiana Gothic by Brock Pope; The Shack; Randy Shilts’ And the Band Played On (1986); a re-reading of Doris Kearns Goodwin‘s Team of Rivals (2005).

Finished up Sitney’s Visionary Film: The American Avant-Garde, 1943-2000 (2002).

Just finished Cohen & Braudy’s Film Theory and Criticism (6th ed., 2004) for my film theory analysis class–a great read.

The last few books I’ve read over the Summer (2009) include: Pat Buchanan’s Hitler and Churchill and the Unnecessary War (2009); The Book of Lies (2009) by Brad Meltzer; Manson’s Curse (1990) by Dell Shannon, Dewey Defeats Truman (1997) and Henry and Clara (1995)–both by Thomas Mallon, The Cases that Haunt Us (2000) by Douglas and Olshaker, Lincoln and Kennedy (1980) by Lattimer, and am currently reading Satan’s Circus by Mike Dash.

Let’s see…The last three books I read were: The Macabre Box (2008) by Jace Epple, Street Fighters (2009) by Kate Kelly, The Bad Seed (1954) by William March–and I’m currently reading Murder and Other Acts of Literature–edited by Michelle Slung.

Just finished Michael Freeman’s The Photographer’s Eye (2007)…

Readings for school–Rhetorical Criticism: Exploration and Practice (2009), Foss; Richard and Judith Wilde’s Visual Literacy.

Just started Disraeli (2006) by Christopher Hibbert

Just starting Into the Wild (1996) by Jon Krakauer…

Currently I’m reading Scandalmonger (2000) by William Safire

Say what you want about the politics of Mr. Safire–this ‘historical novel’ is well-researched and captivating!
